Classroom Management
We focus on a positive behavior management style for our classrooms. We strongly believe that children want to be successful and feel like a contributing part of their classroom. One of the ways to accomplish this is by creating a classroom environment where students feel safe, respected, and loved. We also strive to keep a strong school to home connection.
Weekly Behavior Charts
Each week your child will have a behavior log placed in their take home binder. This log will coordinate the the citizenship, productivity, and participation objectives on your child's report card. We will have a spot for notes to help further explain behaviors. Please look this over with them every week and discuss their behaviors. This encourages responsibility and reinforces the home-school connection with your child. If you have any questions about behaviors feel free to contact us for further explanation.
Golden Tickets
Golden tickets are a class reward system we will be using. Students will receive golden tickets for exhibiting outstanding behaviors in the classroom or around the school. Golden tickets will be given out for following directions, helping others, working well with partners, walking quietly in the hallway, etc. When students receive golden tickets they will write their name on them and put them in the class ticket jar. Every Friday I will pull a few golden tickets out of the jar. If your name is on one of the tickets pulled you get to choose a class coupon. Class coupons include: sitting next to a friend for the day, eating lunch in the classroom, sitting in the teacher's chair, extra computer time, etc.
